WELCOME TO THE GS BLOGOSPERE

Welcome to the 8th grade Guided Study Blog!  There are a few things you need to know before you get started.

You will need to select the Guided Study Class you are in, click your teacher's name on the right side of the page and it will take you to that classes blog.  This is where you will post your writings.  You can visit and read any class site but if you do not post in your own class you will not receive credit for the assignment.

You need to know that the posts are all moderated, which means nothing will appear on the blog until it has been read and approved for publishing by the teachers.
____________________________________________________________________
You are NEVER to post your first name, last name or nickname on the blog.  If you use your name or a peers name your post will not be published and you will not receive credit for the assignment.  You must post anonymously, this  means if you have a google email or account you may not post using your account. If you do it will post your name and / or your email.  This again will not be published and you will lose credit for the assignment.   Here is the best way to post:

  1. Write your response in Word, blogger will time out after about three minutes.  This means anything you have typed in the comment box will be lost.  Complete your response in Word (be sure to save your writing to your documents just in case something happens you still have your post,) When you are done then copy and paste your post in the comment area and submit your writing.
  2. Before you copy and paste your answer in the comment box type the intial of your first name and the intial of your last name so your teacher and your peers can identify you but anyone else visiting the blog will not know it is you.
  3. If you are having trouble posting check your writing for unusual characters, sometimes blogger does not understand your symbols and will block you from posting.  Trying spelling it out or find another symbol that blogger recognizes.
  4. Use complete sentences and complete thoughts.  Your writing should be so clear a 6th or 7th grader would be able to understand what you are saying or follow your process and do the same thing on their own,  Think about when you look for help on the web and the explanations are so complicated or unclear you can not use their help.  Write this the way you would want someone to explain it to you.
Have fun!
